"Although we had booked for 5 nights, the hotel gave us a one night's discount without our asking, because we stayed only 4 nights due to an airport strike. The stay was pleasant. A guest wrote: "This hotel is amazing! The lobby is the most beautiful I have seen in any hotel! The food is wonderful, and the whole place feels rather cozy yet elegant. From my room I had a wonderful view above Victoria Station where I could see some of the old buildings dotting the city. If you are going to London, you will not find a hotel like this anywhere else in the city."
Another wrote: "Absolutely the most comfortable bed of any hotel I've ever stayed at: big fluffy pillows (2 on each twin bed), oversized comforter and just-firm-enough mattress covered by high-thread-count sheets. Very quiet rooms, even ours which overlooked Victoria Station. Rooms are a little small, but average-sized for London. The large, cavernous hallways reminded me of the grand history of the hotel. The staff was very friendly. The location is excellent: Victoria Station is accessible through the hotel (during the daytime) and Buckingham Palace, Parliament within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again."

"The hotel is quite obviously maintained and operated to the highest of standards, this was fairly evident before we booked. We had opted for a quality hotel, but were a little nervous about feeling comfortable and whether our children (11 & 14) would feel entirely welcome. We had no need to worry, we were all made to feel extremely welcome and completely at ease, but at the same time we enjoyed the experience of being made to feel special in what is without doubt a quality establishment."

Overall opinion. Guests who stayed at this hotel said that its atmosphere is more like a club's than a hotel's, and a superb club too. It's quiet, tranquil and peaceful, you could sit in the main lounge and not see another guest for hours. Another observation: no snobbery in the friendly staff, even though the hotel has a real touch of class. Guests have generally been very happy with service, comfort, decor.
